Technical Sales & Calibration Manager

Tip a friend

Copenhagen

We are working with a client that offers calibration services within a range of areas from photonics to electrochemistry and thermometry. This is not just calibrating equipment though but also helping to develop bespoke solutions and test setups for their customers.

They are now expanding their photonics team on the back of a very start to 2024. In essence, they more or less broke last years sales record immediately are finding a big demand in the market for their services which are among the best (if not the best on the market in terms of quality and accuracy).

Whilst the official title for this position will be Calibration Services Manager, your are really taking the role of a Technical Sales Manager or Business Developer. Your primary responsibility will be towards acquiring new customers as well as managing existing ones, both in Denmark and internationally in places like Germany and the US.

You won’t find yourself cold calling every day though, but rather working in a rather consultative role. There will be plenty of technical conversations and some may even call them nerdy. But the focus will be on how you best can service the customers needs, and in some cases even developing bespoke solutions just for them (on a level which there are hardly any competitors that can do on the market).

Of course this also means that you will be working closely with the rest of the team, which consists of several senior scientists and technical experts.

Travel wise you will visit customers from time to time in Denmark, but as far as international travel goes you can expect at least 2 weeks per year where you visit international trade shows in countries like Germany and the US. Apart from that though, you will primarily be based in their office in Hørsholm.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Contact with potential clients to understand their needs.
  • Speak with specialists to propose new technical solutions as well as advising on technical solution proposals.
  • Creating new and lasting relationships through outstanding service.
  • Follow up on sales leads and coordinating them with your team.
  • Expand the sales pipeline through acquisition of new clients, both domestically and internationally.
  • Represent your company domestic and international trade shows.

Your Profile:

  • strong technical background, with a higher education degree in engineering or physics. Ideally you a higher education related to photonics. Alternatively, this could be made up for with a relevant work experience.
  • You do not necessarily need years and years of sales experience to be considered, but having worked in either sales, consulting or some form of business development related position will be a big advantage.
  • Fluent in Danish and English, with a valid driver’s license.
