Field Service Engineer, Lab Instruments

Copenhagen

Join an industry leader in laboratory instrumentation with an immediate opening for a Field Service Engineer in Denmark. They are an established company with a 100 year history and a reputation for selling premium products within their market segment. Even better, most of the work is planned maintenance rather than repairs, meaning you are able to schedule your visits far ahead of time rather than responding to emergencies.

You would be servicing scientific equipment used in research, food, chemical and the life science industry to name a few. Some product examples are rheometers, viscometers, alcohol meters and process sensors to name a few. In recent time there has been a lot of advancement on the automation and robotics side as well where they offer tailor made solutions for the customer.

This is a field based position where you are responsible for scheduling your own visits to customer sites, primarily in the Sjælland area, but with occasional visits to other parts of Denmark or southern Sweden. You also have two field service and two sales colleagues respectively in Denmark.

Travel wise you won’t have to spend to many nights away if you live in Sjælland already since you will be able to return home most days. We would still expect some nights away every now and again though, but most of that can be planned ahead of time as well. So exact amount of nights away is hard to determine and depends on how you prefer to schedule, but could be anything from 15 to 50 nights.

Both initial and continuous training is provided internally and as they are also the manufacturer of the products they sell it will be very in-depth. This can often be an advantage compared to working for a distributor as an example.

Salary is very dependent on experience levels, but our estimated range is between 35,000 – 45,000DKK per month, potentially up to 50,000 a month. There is an internal bonus scheme based on successful leads referrals as well as company pension contribution and the possibility to choose between a company car or using a private one.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering technical support to customers in Denmark, with very occasional support to other Nordic Countries. Your primary area is Sjælland and the greater Copenhagen area.

  • Conduct maintenance, calibration, and repair of lab and process instruments used in multiple industries with R&D, Manufacturing and QC functions requiring laboratory testing.

  • Providing prompt and effective telephone support to customers.

  • Conducting training to customers on instruments.

  • Supporting sales efforts by promoting service contracts. You also have the opportunity to earn referral bonuses through any sales as a result.

Requirements:

  • Technical background with mechanics or electronics. The exact industry matters less but the instruments you would work with are a mix of mechanical and electronical components.

  • Basic software troubleshooting and support. No need to be an IT-wizard but the instruments contain software which has to be installed and sometimes troubleshot.

  • Fluency in Danish and English

  • Ability to work in the field and travel as needed. This may vary from month to month, but having some flexibility would be an advantage.

If you’re ready to take on an exciting challenge and or simply want more information, you can apply by submitting your application and CV in English (no need to be fully updated).
