Finance Manager

Job Purpose:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, compliance, and technical infrastructure supporting the organization’s finance-related systems. The role will require strong expertise in finance systems management, IT governance, and compliance frameworks, especially in regulated environments like Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The ideal candidate will have a combination of financial acumen, IT management experience, and familiarity with laboratory and data analysis platforms such as Agilent OpenLab CDS.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Techniques with a Focus on Laboratory and GMP Compliance:
- Ensure financial data systems comply with GMP standards during software implementation, updates, and validation cycles.
- Oversee financial reporting systems with integration into laboratory data workflows, ensuring robust compliance measures and system integrity.
- Manage system validations in accordance with GAMP5 (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice).
- Coordinate updates and enhancements of financial software systems in collaboration with IT and laboratory teams.
2. Finance Process Leadership in IT and Laboratory Integration:
- Serve as a point of contact between finance, IT, and laboratory operations to ensure cohesive data flows and compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Provide financial oversight for IT projects involving software implementation, updates, and hardware/network improvements that affect budget and cost reporting.
- Partner with IT to support VMware vSphere virtualization environments and ensure effective resource allocation and cost tracking.
3. Compliance and IT Governance:
- Manage compliance requirements for financial and laboratory IT systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain and update documentation of system processes and user protocols in accordance with GAMP5 guidelines.
- Collaborate on IT infrastructure projects related to network security, virtualization, and system resilience to support financial reporting needs.
4. Agilent OpenLab CDS and MassHunter Systems:
- Provide financial oversight related to the administration of Agilent OpenLab CDS and Content Manager in a client/server environment.
- Partner with operational leads to ensure accurate cost tracking and budgeting for MassHunter systems (GCMS, LCMS, ICPMS).
- Assist in managing licensing costs and system usage trends to optimize resource allocations and control expenditures.
5. User Administration and Security:
- Oversee finance-related user access management in Windows Active Directory (AD) and other critical IT systems.
- Ensure IT security policies related to financial systems and user permissions are implemented and regularly reviewed.
- Manage cost allocations related to Microsoft 365 licenses and coordinate with IT teams for budgeting and cost-efficiency initiatives.
6. IT Systems and Software Support for Finance:
- Manage finance-related system dependencies within the broader IT infrastructure, ensuring systems perform optimally in line with cost and security objectives.
- Support the financial modeling and reporting processes, ensuring compatibility with IT infrastructure and software tools.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Proven experience (X years) in financial management within GMP-regulated industries or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including network management and virtualization (VMware vSphere).
- Proficiency in GAMP5 guidelines for software validation.
- Hands-on experience with Agilent OpenLab CDS, MassHunter, and Windows Active Directory user administration.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Content Manager distributed systems for managing financial documentation workflows.
- Experience in cost control and financial planning for laboratory IT systems (e.g., MassHunter for GCMS/LCMS).
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 system cost structures and IT license management.
