Position Overview: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring financial stability, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. The CFO will play a crucial role in structuring and preparing for future investments (Series A, B, and C), and managing financial aspects of our major projects, including the construction of a new manufacturing site with significant CAPEX investments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with specific experience in securing and managing investments and overseeing large-scale construction projects, preferably within the food or biotechnology industries and have strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Financial Strategy and Planning:

 

  • Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy, aligning with overall business goals.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
  • Manage financial risk and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.

 

Financial Operations and Management:

 

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, payroll, tax, and treasury functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.

 

Investment and Fundraising:

 

  • Develop and execute strategies for securing investment and funding to support the company´s ambitious growth strategy.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to prepare financial models, forecasts, and business plans for potential investors.
  • Prepare and support in the presentation of financial information to potential investors and stakeholders.
  • Support in the Management of relationships with investors, venture capitalists, and other financial partners.
  • Take full accountability in the due diligence process and ensure compliance with investment agreements.

 

Strategic Projects and Initiatives:

 

  • Support and oversee major strategic projects, including new product launches, market expansion, and M&A activities.
  • Provide financial insights and guidance for key business decisions.
  • Ensure financial aspects of projects are well-managed and aligned with company goals.

 

Financial Project Management:

 

  • Oversee the financial aspects of the construction of a new manufacturing site, ensuring the project stays within budget and on schedule.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure financial efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement financial controls and risk management strategies for the project.
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance, identifying and addressing any financial issues or discrepancies.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within the food or biotechnology industries.
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing investments, including Series A, B, and C funding.
  • Extensive experience in financial project management, particularly in overseeing large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, standards, and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
